Svetlana studeerde af aan de National Gallery of Arts in Sofia. Ze was deel van de klas van Olafur Eliasson bij IUAV, Venetië. In 2004 kreeg ze de International Media Art Award of ZKM, Karlsruhe uitgereikt voor haar project ‘Mistakes’. Ze was Art Director bij reclamebureau’s Ogilvy & Mather, Demner, Merlicek & Bergman en Carré Noir Sofia en Capital Light Magazine. Ze was genomineerd voor de BAZA Award in 2010 en voor de Henkel Art Award voor Oost Europese Kunst in 2012. Svetlana was een van de curatoren voor de Sofia Design Week in 2012.
